Our Responsibilities To You

* We are committed to giving you the best possible service.

* People involved in your care will give you their names and ensure you know how to contact them.

* When requesting an appointment you will be given a time at which the doctor or nurse hopes to be able to see you. You should not wait more than 20 minutes in the waiting room without receiving an explanation for the delay.

* We will arrange a home visit as appropriate for those who are too ill to be brought to the surgery.

* Patients will be treated as individuals and partners in their health care, irrespective of their ethnic origins or religious and cultural beliefs.

* We will give you full information about the services we offer. The practice will offer advice, and information on:

The steps that can be taken to promote good health and avoid illness. Self-help which can be undertaken without reference to a doctor in the case of minor ailments.

* All your records will be kept confidential at all times.

* Help us to help you.

* Please let us know if you change your name, address or telephone number.

* Please do everything you can to keep appointments. Tell us as soon as possible if you cannot. Otherwise other sick patients will have to wait longer.

* Please only ask for a home visit if the patient is too ill to come to the surgery.

* Please avoid telephoning during peak times for non-urgent matters.

* Test results take time to reach us so please allow at least 72 hours for blood tests and up to three weeks for x-ray results and ring after 2.00pm.

* Please treat all doctors and practice staff with the same courtesy and respect you would expect to receive from them.


Suggestions, Comments And Complaints

There is a practice complaints procedure to deal with comments, suggestions and complaints. In the event of a complaint please ask to speak to the practice manager.

Our aim is to give you the highest possible standard of service and we try to deal swiftly with any problems that may occur.

Confidentiality

The practice holds information about patients, which is private and sensitive, in both paper and electronic form. Unless the patient consents, this information will not be made available to anyone other then the staff of this practice or other medical professionals who need access in the course of their duties. Everyone working for the NHS has a legal duty to maintain the highest level of confidentiality in all matters concerning patients.
